Full Itinerary

Your Private Koh Ker and Beng Mealea Journey

Travel at your own pace in an air-conditioned SUV with your licensed local expert guide, away from the Angkor crowds. The drive is part of the experience, through countryside villages and rice fields, and we stop for photos wherever you like. Lunch and drinks are included, and you set the rhythm of the day.

Hotel pickup in Siem Reap
Your guide and driver meet you at your hotel at the start time you prefer. Settle into the SUV and leave the town behind for the quiet roads of the Cambodian countryside.

Scenic drive to Koh Ker
Head northeast past village houses, rice fields and roadside stalls. Your guide shares stories of rural life, and the driver stops whenever you spot a photo. On the way you pass Beng Mealea, which you’ll visit later in the day.

Koh Ker Group
Koh Ker was briefly the capital of the Khmer Empire in the 10th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Prasat Linga, Prasat Pram and Prasat Thom, and enjoy the drive along the temple circuits, through the forest and between the temples. See the Shiva linga at Prasat Linga and the tree roots that wrap around Prasat Pram. As this is a private tour, you can stop at any temple that catches your interest, so ask your guide whenever you’d like to explore or photograph one. Prasat Thom, known as the Cambodian Pyramid, rises in seven stepped tiers above the trees, unlike anything at Angkor. Your guide explains the history and the stone carvings. Few visitors come here, so you can take your time and take photos in peace.

Lunch at a local restaurant
Enjoy the lunch and drinks included in your tour at a local restaurant near Koh Ker. It’s a relaxed break to cool down, taste Khmer food and talk with your guide about life in Cambodia.

Beng Mealea
Drive back to Beng Mealea, a vast 12th-century temple in the style of Angkor Wat that the jungle has largely reclaimed. Walk through fallen stones, moss-covered galleries and tree roots, and follow the raised wooden walkways that make the temple easy to explore. Your guide helps you find the best viewpoints and angles for photos.

Return to Siem Reap
Travel back through the countryside, with a last photo stop if you wish. Your driver takes you to your hotel.
