Full Itinerary

Your private day beyond Angkor Wat

This is your day, at your pace. Your licensed local expert guide and driver take you from a jungle-covered temple to a sacred mountain in a private air-conditioned SUV, with no group schedule. Want a photo of the rice fields? Fancy a longer swim? Just ask, and we stop.

Hotel pickup in Siem Reap
Your guide meets you at your hotel with cold water and a plan that bends to you. Settle into the SUV and watch Siem Reap give way to countryside.

The scenic drive out
Roads run past rice fields, palm trees and village homes where daily life carries on. Your guide shares stories of rural Cambodia along the way, and you can stop for photos whenever something catches your eye.

Beng Mealea: the temple the jungle took back
Begin at Beng Mealea, a 12th-century temple where tree roots wrap the walls and fallen stones form quiet passages. Wander through its galleries and along wooden walkways, with your guide explaining the temple’s story and time to take it slowly. There’s no crowd to move you along.

The back road up to Phnom Kulen
From Beng Mealea, take the back road through villages and farmland and up into the forests of Phnom Kulen National Park. It’s a beautiful drive, so ask for a stop wherever the view opens up.

Phnom Kulen: where the Khmer Empire began
This sacred mountain is where King Jayavarman II declared the Khmer Empire in 802 AD, long before Angkor Wat was built. Your guide brings that history to life as you explore.

Wat Preah Ang Thom and the Reclining Buddha
At the mountaintop pagoda, an 8-metre Buddha lies carved into the rock. Local people come here to pray and make offerings, and you’re welcome to light incense and take a quiet moment.

Kulen waterfall and picnic lunch
Spend as long as you like by the waterfall. Have a relaxed picnic, then swim in the cool pools if the water suits you. The flow is strongest in the wet season, and your guide will tell you what to expect on your day.

Down the other side of the mountain
You leave on the far side, so the day is a loop with no retracing your route. Enjoy the forest and rural views on the way, with photo stops wherever you like.

Banteay Srei (optional)
If you have energy and interest in ancient carvings, add Banteay Srei, the pink sandstone temple known for the finest carving at Angkor.

Back to Siem Reap
Your guide takes you back to your hotel, or to the Old Market if you want to stay in town for dinner.
